The symbolism of the winged disc found is always shown on ceilings and doorways in temples and tombs, is to express the incarnating or excarnating spirit of the human soul in birth and death. The sun disc is an emblem of the human soul, the wings give it flight. By using this smbol on ceilings and doorwayds, to enter a place and leave it, it reminds us that our soul only has a temporary residence within in the human body.
This photo is taken underneath the tunnel gate entrances inside the Mortuary temple of Ramses 111 at Medinet Habu, the ceiling always shows the kings name in hyroglifs with the signs for beautiful god, life, son of Amun Ra. Along with this we can see a sun disc with wings.
